Abstract

There has been growing interest recently in application of injection-locking techniques to semiconductor lasers. A primary motivation for these studies is the prospect of applying injection-locked lasers to coherent optical communication systems. The performance of such systems is greatly influenced by the noise characteristics of the light source. Recently, we reported1 on numerical investigations of diodelaser frequency-noise spectra under external signal injection.
