Abstract

We experimentally investigated propagation of squeezed vacuum pulses in a cold atomic ensemble with electromagnetically induced transparency. 930 ns of the squeezed vacuum pulse was incident on the laser cooled 87Rb atoms and its propagation was analyzed using time domain method. Bandwidth of the squeezing was dramatically reduced due to the EIT and the slow propagation was clearly observed for the pulsed squeezed vacuum.
