Investigation of Launch Power and Regenerator Placement Trade-off in MLR Optical Networks

Abstract

We investigate the trade-off between regenerator placement and launch power in MLR network. Results demonstrate optimal combination of launch powers providing the best design and network cost primarily being controlled by 10/100 Gbps launch powers.
