Early Dental Demineralisation Imaging using Polarisation Sensitive Optical Coherence Tomography

Abstract

The contrast of caries imaging is improved by utilising the depolarisation property of the caries. Polarisation sensitive optical coherence tomography (1310 nm region) for 48 hour demineralisation shows the subsurface caries (thickness 30~40 μm).
