Abstract

A scalable fiber design for ytterbium-doped high performance fiber lasers and amplifiers will be presented. The working principle of large-pitch fibers (LPF) bases on delocalization of higher-order transverse modes, ensuring mode-size-scalable effectively single-mode emission.
