High Energy Conversion Efficiency in Quantum Dot Intermediate Band Solar Cells: Reality or Fantasy?

Abstract

Even under concentration, the solar intensity is much lower than the saturation intensities involved for the first and second transitions of an intermediate band solar cell. The improvement to the energy conversion efficiency is negligible.
