Self-Homodyne Coherent Transmission for High-Speed Radio Access Networks (RAN) Employing Automatically Controlled Carrier Extractor

Abstract

We analyze cost and energy efficient self-homodyne coherent detection transmission system for short reach, high capacity 5G links. 28Gbaud DP-16QAM transmission is demonstrated employing coded spectral shaping at transmitter and carrier extractor at the receiver.
