Improved Power Budget in an 8 × 8 Lossless SOA-based Photonic Switch in InP Platform

Abstract

A design for an 8 × 8 SOA-based optical switch in InP is experimentally demonstrated at 1310 nm. In this design the on-chip shuffle network loss is reduced by 11 dB.
