Abstract
We present a highly energy-efficient receiver module for 100-Gbps burst-mode optical packets; where an optoelectronic serial-to-parallel converter (SPC) is developed to directly write into a CMOS processor without demanding extra signal-conditioning circuits. The SPC produces NRZ output based on a new operation principal, and the clock pulses necessary for its operation are generated with a low-power self-stabilized pulse generator.
