Fast and Accurate Automatic Calibration of a 32 × 32 Silicon Photonic Strictly-Non-Blocking Switch

Abstract

1024 thermo-optic Mach-Zehnder element switches in a 32×32 silicon photonic switch are automatically calibrated based on very few sampling points, potentially within a total calibration time of 90 seconds without degrading quality.
