Abstract

Modern computer systems are now shipping with interface cards containing optical transmitters and receivers for device, storage and network interfaces. Fibre channel is mainstream and provides suitable length-bandwidth product for linking large redundant arrays of inexpensive disks (RAID) to processors in enterprise computer environments.
