Enhanced crosstalk suppression for Ti: LiNbO3 digital optical switches

Abstract

High extinction ratio and low loss digital optical switches based on Ti:LiNbO3 optical waveguides are presented. Crosstalk suppression better then 30 dB or even 50 dB for any applied voltage above 25 V is reached using an improved Y-junction design or a dilated switch arrangement, respectively.
