Abstract

We analyze iron-doped lithium niobate crystals by impedance spectroscopy and compare as-grown with thermo-electrically oxidized crystals. The temperature ranges between 30 and 720 °C and the frequency between 3 × 105 and 0.01 Hz. This allows to determine the activation energies for the DC-conductivity, the dominant charge carriers, and the degree of oxidization of thermo-electrically oxidized crystals.
