Circular scanning photoacoustic tomography based on a coplanar light illumination and ultrasonic detection

Abstract

A circular scanning photoacoustic tomography using coplanar light illumination and ultrasonic detection is proposed by the aid of a translucent quartz bowl. Phantom experiments demonstrate this novel coplanar configuration could greatly expand the imaging scope.
