Abstract

We present the implementation and characterization of a four wave mixing experimental set-up for the characterization of third order nonlinearities in photonic crystals. This set-up allows us to perform a first experimental demonstration of the enhancement of the efficiency of the phase conjugate reflectivity, due to light localization at the band edge of the photonic crystal.
