Abstract

The optical damage phenomena of indium doped lithium niobate crystals were studied under the wavelength down to ultraviolet in this paper. The results were very different from those in visible. Indium dopants in the lithium niobate act as good photorefractive effect enhancement impurities, at the same time the crystal maintains the slight lens-like laser deformation. We did some discussions on this result, and demonstrated that the indium doped lithium niobate is a good candidate in UV photorefractive applications.
