Abstract
Transient dynamics of photorefractive gratings recorded by a He-Ne laser was revealed in a BSO crystal. The transient dip on diffraction efficiency curves was considerably enhanced by pre-exposure of the sample to a green-yellow light. The recording dynamics was found to depend on the input polarization of writing beams. In particular, a transient grating with the spatial phase opposite to the initial one was observed only for the horizontal polarization. The model taking into account the nonsteady-state recording conditions and nonlinear photoconductivity was used to describe the obtained data.
