Speckle-correlation calculation with image binarization technique for wind velocity measurement

Abstract

A new method with image binarization technique is more efficient to determine the peak of correlation strength than general method. The efficiency is experimentally demonstrated by measuring upper atmospheric wind velocity using stellar speckle patterns.
