Radially polarized THz source employing velocity mismatched optical rectification

Abstract

By exploiting velocity mismatch, we show that optical rectification can generate radially polarized THz pulses. A compact system is implemented using <001> cut ZnTe pumped by an ultrafast Yb-doped parabolic fiber amplifier.
