Enabling wide-field illumination and detection in mesh-based Monte Carlo simulations

Abstract

We propose a generalized mesh-based Monte Carlo approach that supports various wide-field illumination sources and free-space detectors. Simulations and phantom studies are performed to demonstrate the flexibility, efficiency and accuracy of our new algorithm.
