Characterization of lung lesions using diffuse optical spectroscopy: preliminary results

Abstract

Peripheral lung lesions are evaluated with transthoracic biopsies; but accurate characterization is challenging. We used diffuse optical spectroscopy and found significant differences between malignant/benign, indicating potential for clinical use.
