Abstract

A polymer thin-film laser is fabricated in a slab-waveguide by spin-coating Rhodamine B (Rh-B)-doped thio ether methacrylate (TEMA) onto a glass substrate. Lasing is observed by pumping the thin-film with irradiation of the interference pattern of Nd:YAG (SHG) 532 nm laser having a period of 15 μm. The effects of the pump energy and visibility on the lasing output are described.
