Light scattering, optomechanical trapping, strain and deformation of elastic dielectric objects

Abstract

We use a multiple scattering expansion to compute the Maxwell stress tensor and optical forces inducing deformations in elastic dielectrics. Optical trapping is enhanced by deformation showing size-dependent stretching or compression and spatial bistability.
