Design and Fabrication of Thin-Film Silicon-Based Selective Solar Absorbers

Abstract

The efficiency of solar absorbers at capturing heat can be improved dramatically using spectral selectivity. Applying this concept to thin-film silicon increases thermal transfer efficiencies over 60% at 595 °C under moderate solar concentrations.
