Abstract
Polymer-based flexible devices need a low-temperature fabrication process. Silicone rubber is a useful matrix for dispersing dye molecules, since nano-sized free volume in its flexible network structure allows molecular diffusion. The diffusion coefficient of large molecules is enhanced by swelling the rubber with toluene. Flexible ring lasers were fabricated by diffusing rhodamine 6G in silicone rubber, and their emission characteristics were examined.
