Abstract

Optical sensing performance of tapered fiber coated with Graphene Quantum Dots (GQDs) towards lard with different concentrations is investigated. Gold nanoparticle (Au-NPs) is applied to further enhance the sensitivity of the sensor. GQDs and Au-NPs were coated onto a multimode tapered optical fiber by drop-casting technique. The developed sensor was exposed to different concentrations of lard (10% to 100%), the sensor intensity inversely proportionally in the present of Au-NPs. Fluorescence quantum yield of Au-NPs achieved was as high as 20%.
