Abstract

Using an optical near-field (ONF), we developed new chemical reactions including realization of the dipole-forbidden transition, the two-photon absorption, the optical excitation with high wavenumber components, and the generation of localized magnetic field. In this talk, I will overview our recent developments using the ONF assisted processes, such as an ultra-flat surface using ONF etching in angstrom scale, CO2 reduction, and visible- to infrared-light water splitting.
