The excess supermode noise in a detuned phase modulated harmonic mode-locking laser

Abstract

The excess supermode noise was found in the transition from FM laser oscillation to phase mode-locking in a phase modulated harmonic mode-locking laser. The results are explained by Floquet analysis of the laser equations.
