The OIDA Market Update brings the Annual Market Report to OIDA members and the industry in a series of bi-monthly installments. Each update features key topics in optics and photonics markets, including particular sectors or market segments, regional trends, and recent areas of focus for OIDA, and which are not available in another form in the industry today. The material is presented in a user-friendly format as a set of slides with accompanying narration.
Highlights in this OIDA Update:
Optical communications. This installation of the OIDA Market Update has several sections on optical communications: highlights presented at the OFC 2015 Exhibitors Breakfast (including some bonus slides), 2014 in review, SDN and NFV, and the new network edge. Much of this installation features data center networks, because of the strong growth in that segment and the pressure it puts on other communication networks.
Optical sensors. In this installation we feature a review of portable and handheld spectroscopy instruments, based in part on a visit to Pittcon, the large laboratory science exhibition in New Orleans March 8-15.
