Antireflective layers on thin metal films for mid-infrared internal reflection spectroscopy

Abstract

Mid-infrared transparent, micrometer-thick coatings on infrared-transparent substrates for use with attenuated total internal reflection infrared (ATR-IR) spectroscopy through metal films are introduced. The coatings enhance the tunneling of light through the metals.
