Abstract

This paper describes the mechanism of dressed photon-phonon (DPP) generation. Recent progress in ultrafine fabrication technologies using DPPs is reviewed, including DPP-photochemical etching and desorption, which can be used to produce angstrom-scale flat surfaces.
