Abstract

Interaction between streaming carrier plasmons and lattice vibrations in ultra-high mobility materials leads to unstable excitation of novel, hybrid plasmon-polariton-phonon modes. Spontaneous growth from noise and THz lasing from nano-stuctures is investigated.
