Nanohardness of abrasive particles used in magnetorheological finishing (MRF)

Abstract

The nanohardness of individual micron-sized magnetic and nonmagnetic abrasives used in magnetorheological finishing (MRF) has been successfully measured using novel nanoindentation techniques. Results are validated by comparison with existing microhardness data found in the literature.
