Metrology of Localized Inhomogeneity in Optical Glass

Abstract

The optical glass industry does not have a standard method of quantitatively evaluating localized inhomogeneities (striae). We are developing an interferometric method and find that the measured wavefront distortion depends on sample position and focus.
