High Temperature Exposure to Deuterium of Optical Fibers with Bragg gratings

Abstract

Germanium doped fibers written with fiber Bragg gratings were treated with deuterium. Based on our experimental results, we conclude that deuterium passivation is not a feasible approach for improving fiber loss stability at 150 °C.
