Abstract

The fibre coupled integrating sphere offers an attractive method of obtaining a compact long path length gas cell. This work evaluates the performance of a Labsphere 5 cm integrating sphere coated with Spectralon for the detection of the 2v1+2v2+v3 band of CO2 at around 1.6μm. While this paper shows the development of a spherical gas cell for carbon dioxide. This work will be of use for the ongoing development of compact gas sensors for hazardous environments.
