Sagnac effect in Resonant Microcavities

Abstract

The Sagnac effect in two dimensional (2D) resonant microcavities is studied theoretically and numerically. It is shown that the frequency shift due to the Sagnac effect occurs as a threshold phenomenon for an angular velocity.
