Interrogation of High-Finesse FBG Resonators by Laser-Frequency Locking for High-Sensitivity Strain Sensing

Abstract

A strain detection method, relying on active frequency-locking of a laser to high-reflectivity FBG-based cavities, is reported. The locking-loop signal serves as a fast and sensitive monitor of the strain acting on the intra-cavity fiber.
