Fibre-optic gamma-flux monitoring in fission reactor by means of Cerenkov radiation

Abstract

We demonstrate the possibility to use the Cerenkov radiation to monitor the gamma-flux in a mixed radiation field. The system employs a radiation resistant pure silica glass fibre to measure the radioluminescence at 1000 nm.
