Abstract

In this study, we applied fiber Bragg grating distributed sensors to monitoring resin flow edge, curing process and structural health monitoring of a composite structure made by VaRTM. In order to monitor them, we used a long gauge FBG (about 100mm) which is able to do a distribute sensing and an Optical Frequency Domain Reflectometory (OFDR). These sensor and OFDR were able to monitor VaRTM process and the structure that manufactured by that successfully.
