Rotating Crystals and Micro-Cavities with Applications to Optical Gyroscopes

Abstract

We study propagation in rotating crystals, micro-cavities, and slow-light structures. Novel manifestations of the Sagnac effect are reported. Theoretical tools for studying the new effects in detail are discussed. Results are verified by numerical simulations.
