Abstract

Sensing is becoming one of the most important fields in optical devices. In particuIn this paper the characteristics of the transient index grating formed in the erbiumdoped optical fibers at the transition wavelength of 1.54?m are reported. No amplification using 1.48?m or the other wavelength pumping to the writing waves is employed in the present scheme.
