Brillouin fiber optic gyro with directional sensitivity

Abstract

A Brillouin fiber optic gyro with directional sensitivity is experimentally demonstrated. The phase diversity is introduced for obtaining two beat signals of the counter-propagating Stokes beams. The rotation direction is easily detected by their phase difference.
