Optical Irradiation Method for Fiber Coupler Fabrications

Abstract

An optical irradiation method for high-speed fiber coupler fabrications without contaminations is proposed. In this method, the fiber taper shape is optically-controlled. We also make the basic analysis of thermal conditions for this effect.
