Abstract

Fiberoptic sensors can be used for monitoring physical (P, T, flow) or chemical (pH, pO2, glucose content) quantities. These sensors may be inserted into the body via catheters or endoscopes, and used as diagnostic tools. They are potentially very sensitive, reliable and cost effective.
