A NEW SAMPLING DETECTION SCHEME FOR HIGH SENSITIVITY FIBER OPTIC MAGNETOMETER

Abstract

A new sampling detection scheme for high sensitivity fiber optic magnetometer is proposed and demonstrated. This scheme accommodates large AC magnetic bias field needed for the detection of low level DC magnetic fields utilizing the mixing process in the quadratic magnetostrictive response.
