ROTATION OF POLARIZATION AXES IN HIGH-BIREFRINGENCE FIBERS

Abstract

The fabrication-induced rotation of the polarization axes is investigated in high-birefringence fibers. This rotation causes coupling of the two major field components of the fundamental mode and limits the ability to hold polarization in some applications.
