Integrated optical chips which can perform the combined function of many bulk optical components are of considerable interest for fiber-gyro systems. A chip which could be used in a dual-frequency phase-nulling gyro system1 is shown in Fig. 1. The chip consists of a double-Y waveguide circuit2 with a polarizer and two phase modulators.
