Ultra-Low Inter-Mode-Group Crosstalk Ring-Core Fiber Optimized Using Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithm

Abstract

We design and fabricate a ring-core fiber whose refractive-index profile is optimized using neural networks and genetic algorithm under fabrication constraints. Experimental results confirm ultra-low inter-mode-group crosstalk of <−55 dB/km.
