Abstract

Antenna-coupled-electrode LiNbO3 optical modulators have been designed, fabricated, and demonstrated experimentally for the calibrations of millimeter-wave radars and imagers. A over 50-dB signal-to-noise ratio of the re-converted signal was obtained in the 1-GHz IF band.
